Ira Martina Drupady is an energy, climate and gender specialist with more than 15 years of work and research experience across Asia. She is the Co-Founder of Stavenhagen Drupady (SD) Consulting, a Singapore-registered consulting firm established in 2012. She assumed the position of Managing Partner in 2022. SD Consulting specialises in the delivery of policy advisory, technical assistance and capacity building on sustainable development issues. She is concurrently completing her PhD at the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore.
Dr Mary Ann Q. Franco’s academic research includes energy security, renewable energy technology development in Southeast Asia, and science, technology and society studies. Her current research focuses on how energy-poor communities in developing countries adopt clean energy technologies to achieve sustainable development. Specifically, she studies the impact of renewable energy on energy access and equity of off-grid, remote and coastal communities in the Philippines. A part of her renewable portfolio looks at the societal and policy implications of relatively novel renewable technologies, like marine renewables, in island communities.
Dr. Khuong Vu is an Associate Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (NUS). His areas of research include economic development strategy, digital transformation, energy transition, productivity analysis, and ASEAN economic integration. Prior to NUS, Dr. Vu had held various government positions in Vietnam, including Deputy Chief of Haiphong City’s Government Office, Vice-Chairman of Dinh Vu Economic Zone, and CEO of State-owned Song Cam Chemical Company. Dr. Vu has provided extensive consulting and advisory services to international organizations and government agencies, including UNIDO, UNDP, IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, IFC, ILO, APO, USAID, KPMG, and various ASEAN government agencies. Dr. Vu is a member of the Steering Committee of Facebook’s “We Think Digital” Initiative and a member of the Advisory Council of the Chandler Institute of Governance (Singapore). Dr. Vu received his BA in Mathematics (with highest honours) from Hanoi National University, MBA from Harvard Business School, and PhD in Public Policy from Harvard University.
Dr. Hailong Li is a professor at Future Energy Center, Mälardalen University, Sweden. His research interest is in the development of innovative low-carbon energy technologies, including renewable energy and carbon capture and sequestration. He has led several projects funded by the European Union, Swedish energy agency and Swedish Knowledge Foundation. Prof Li has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and international conferences, and he is among highly cited scholars in his fields. He is currently serving as associated editor of Applied Energy Journal.
Dr Shengchun Liu is a professor and Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Tianjin University of Commerce, China. His main areas of expertise is in RHVAC (refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning), such as energy saving and optimization of refrigeration technologies and systems, natural refrigerant options, and natural refrigerant based cooling technologies. He received Contribution Award in recognition of his protection of ozone layer by UNDP, UNEP, UNIDO, WB, and FECO in 2017. He was also the member of Tianjin Renewable Energy Society, Youth Committee of Heat and Mass Transfer of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics. He holds a PhD in Thermal Engineering from Tianjin University, China.
Dr Benito Mignacca is a Research Fellow in Economics and Management Engineering at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Italy. He obtained his PhD at the University of Leeds (UK) in 2021, where he received the 2021 Postgraduate Award in recognition of his academic performance. His main areas of expertise and research include: Energy Economics and Finance, Circular Economy, Modularity in Complex Systems, Innovation Management, and Project Management.
Dr Aaron Praktiknjo holds the chair for Energy Systems Economics, RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He is Co-Director of the E.ON Energy Research Center, President of the German Association for Energy Economics (GEE) and Vice President of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). His research focuses on the analysis of energy systems around affordability, environmental impacts and security of supply.
Dr Jun Yuan is an Associate Professor in China Institute of FTZ Supply Chain at Shanghai Maritime University (China). He obtained his PhD degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2013. His main areas of expertise and research include: Energy Systems Modeling, Shipping Energy Systems, Computer Simulation, and Optimization.
